Mum (You are The One)
by
Nikki
Mum, there are no gifts,
In this whole world that I could find,
To match the beauty in your Heart,
Or wisdom of your mind.
So the only thing that I can give,
That's just to you from me,
Are these few words I've written down,
Of how I'd like to be.
I'd like to be the pillar,
That epitomises strength,
'The One' who puts her family first,
And goes to any length.
'The One' who very seldom moans,
Bout' all the things she does,
'The One' who cooks and cleans and feeds,
And eminates her love.
I'd like to be 'The One' who cares,
Whatever time of day,
'The One' who's arms are open wide,
In every single way.
'The One' who carries on each day,
Regardless if she's low,
'The One' who may be in some pain,
Although you'd never know.
I'd like to be like you mum,
You're a light that helps me see,
My closest friend and confidante,
That means the world to me.
And if I've let you down before,
Or left my thanks unsaid,
Took all you've done for granted,
And gone stomping up to bed.
Then I must say, I'm sorry,
For the things I've said and done,
And one day I hope to be like you,
My mum, you are 'The One'.
I wrote this for my mum a couple of years ago when she was going through
a hard time, it really helped her, so please feel free to copy this and
send it to your own mum!! |
