Playdough

If you are stuck for ideas for keeping young children amused, try this simple recipe for play dough. We’ve had a good laugh with it with adult friends too – it makes a
great game of ‘guess what they’re modeling’, though we found that a generous helping of wine enhanced this game no end!

Ingredients

2 cups plain flour
2 cups water
1 cup salt
2 tablespoons of cooking oil
2 teaspoons of cream of tartar
colouring (not blue)

Put all ingredients into a pan and cook over a mediumheat until mixture gets very thick and starts to come away from the side of the pan.
Turn out onto a floured surface and kneed. Store in an ice cream or airtight container and keep in fridge.
The dough will last several months. As you can see from the picture – the possibilities are endless.
I’m sure that it will take great practice to get yourselves up to that level of skill – but have a go and please send your pics!!
